Welcome! I’m Emily Hardt and I’m running to be your Ward 7 City Councilor so that together we can build a city that works for everyone.

As a teacher, former union organizer and former nonprofit executive director, I have a proven track record of fighting for justice, equity and inclusive policy. As an over 20 years Somerville resident, community activist and public school parent, I’m deeply invested in building a local government that reflects our shared values.

I can’t wait to get to work on serving Ward 7 and making Somerville a more affordable, safer and climate-resilient city — a place where the hardest burdens don’t fall on the people with the fewest resources and where everyone can enjoy all our wonderful city has to offer.
